Project Overview

Background

eGadgetsdeals was founded in March 2023 and is operated by REVERSE SUPPLY CHAIN UK LIMITED, dedicated to revolutionising your tech shopping experience. As a leading online retailer, we specialise in offering a diverse range of electronic gadgets and accessories to meet the needs of tech enthusiasts worldwide.
Our team is committed to curating a comprehensive selection of the latest and most innovative products from renowned brands. From smartphones and laptops to smart home devices and audio accessories, we strive to provide our customers with top-quality gadgets at competitive prices.Furthermore, we offer real-time online customer service.

Goals & Objectives

The team wanted to provide users with a convenient and fast search experience on egadetsdeal. Also, we hope to refactor our infrastructure for the future scale.

Role & Deliverables

In this project, I worked closely with PM and engineers. I was responsible for UI and UX design, from defining the problem to deliver the final visual artifact.

Challenges

During the development of this project, there were significant technical dependencies, such as backend APIs and third-party services. These dependencies often affected our workflow when there were communication gaps or delays from other teams. Additionally, we had to continuously coordinate the prioritization of product requirements and quickly adapt our design and development plans in response to urgent changes to ensure on-time delivery.
For example, in the final stages, the payment service originally planned for integration was suddenly changed, requiring us to rapidly revise the user flow and interface design. This involved close collaboration with the engineering team to assess technical feasibility and implement the necessary adjustments within a tight timeframe.

Results & Impact

We launched the site in five months, and our revenue is still growing. At the same time, we've received a lot of positive feedback and some suggestions from users. The current version is still being optimized.

Branding

Direction

Our strategy was based on making the branding properly align with eGadgetsdeal's business strategy and present its visual identity in a way that is easily recognizable and quickly communicates its message—through sleek, streamlined, and simple design.

The use of navy colors conveys stability and professionalism, commonly seen in tech and electronics brands, giving an impression of reliability and trustworthiness. The letter "e" is encased in a tag shape, possibly symbolizing shopping or deals, highlighting the brand's core focus on transactions and products.

eGadgetsdeal Logo

Symbols of transactions, discounts, and promotions are presented with tags and a rotating effect, making the design more dynamic and interesting while maintaining recognizability. The style is simple and clear, with no unnecessary details, ensuring that the logo is easy to identify and memorable.

Colors

- D-Navy, Navy, and Sapphire.
These are used for every brand asset we have.

- Cornflower and Baby Blue.
These were used as soft background colors. Supporting various brand assets by adding depth and variety, these colors allow for easier discernment.

- Special.
We used this one for decorate and highlights: important messages and CTA buttons, and similar elements that need more attention.

The design emphasizes visual hierarchy, product display, a convenient shopping experience, and a clear navigation system.

Landing Page-Home Page

Through banner images, product blocks of varying sizes, and clear headings, users can quickly focus on important promotions. The navigation bar and search bar are designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing users to easily find the products they need. Also, the product category blocks and recommendation sections are organized neatly, enhancing the user experience.

The page uses a white background with deep blue as an accent color, making the entire site look clean and fresh, and easy to read and navigate.

The left sidebar offers filters for quick product selection. Users can sort by relevance or price at the top, and adjust the number of items per page at the bottom for more flexibility. A fixed menu and search bar ensure easy navigation.

The "Better Together" section on the product detail page suggests related items to boost add-on purchases and enhance the shopping experience.
